We haven't just stayed home, however. We took several trips up to Idaho, the first at the beginning of June, and then again over the 4th of July. My grandma passed away while we were up there (she was 94 and had had a massive stroke a few months before, so in many ways it was really a blessing), so we were up again one week later for her funeral.
The view from my parents' driveway...ahhh, so nice!
We also spent a night in Park City, with the idea that Brandon was going to get up early in the morning and go on a huge bike ride as training for some events later this summer. But, taking the family kiboshed the big plans; we played on the Alpine Slide and kiddie rides instead, and Brandon rode a smaller, but still substantial ride that day. (He did get in the originally planned 100 mile route yesterday, which had 3 major mountain climbs in it!)

A few weeks ago we had a great time at the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City with all of Brandon's family. I got to see all 6 plays this year (loved them!), Brandon saw three of them and got in some golfing and a bike ride, and the kids swam and played hard with their cousins. I left Logan either with Brandon or at the daycare during the plays, and he never once would take a bottle. Darn! Luckily, they said he was really good even without it, though a few times he was very glad to see me.
Last weekend we had a reunion with my mom's family at the Heber Valley Camp, and we had a lot of fun. Marshmallow gun kits were provided for the kids, which of course my boys were all over. They went on some hikes, and went boating at the end of the day.

Out on the lake with Dad (Logan was sleeping with me on shore)
There has also been a lot of jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler under it, a session of swimming lessons, teaching my piano students, a neighborhood craft class, trips to the library, and plenty of downtime. Oh good, now I don't feel as pathetic as I did when I was only thinking of the things we didn't do!

YAY!!! I love a new blog! Thanks for finally taking the leap.
Holy Cow, your little Logan is so big already! Can't wait to check back often. Hugs to everyone, Amy
BTW: LOVE the cute blog background. : )
Annalise, I can't believe you were feeling "pathetic" about not doing all of your scheduled activities! You have 5 BOYS.....need I say more?? Looks like their summer has been great. We loved seeing you guys at the Festival - way too quick of a reunion. Love to you, Bran and the Boyz!!
Love, Melyssa
Annalise,
I'm so happy you are a blogger now - it's totally lame that we live 45 minutes apart but never see each other - maybe that can change sometime!
Your boys are so cute and growing up! I applaud you for venturing into the five kids world!
And, you put me to shame in the good reads department. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't finished a book at all this summer - started lots, never finished.
Love you and your energy!
Maureen
Your blog is great! It is such a great way to journal in our modern world and I am sure your 5 boys will give you plenty of material. I now go through my life looking for potential "blog worthy" moments! Have fun - Amy
Annalise -

Awesome - you are one of the only ones who actually acted on my dare! Way to go! You won't regret it!
Your summer was the story of my life last year... globetrotting all over the place visiting family, attending weddings, etc. but not really have any down time to just enjoy summer vacation! Don't worry, your boys will never know the difference! Take time to enjoy the last couple weeks of summer vacation!
I'm so glad you started a blog! It's how I seem to keep you with lots of people from college. (You have Zoila's blog address, right?)
It's sounds like your summer has been busy and full. There's nothing to feel bad about. We're all just doing the best we can.
So now that you've joined the blogging world, guess what will follow you around every now and then? Blog tags! So yep, you guessed it--I'm passing along a tag to you. Check out today's post on our blog for details. Won't you please play along? : )
I am so proud of you! Very cool blog.
