What, me?
The other morning, Colin asked for milk on his cereal--again. This is highly unusual behavior for him, since he generally prefers it dry (don't ask me why). After several mornings of this, I commented that he must have decided he now likes milk. He said, "Mom, do you know why I've been asking for milk?" "Why?" I ask, somewhat suspicious now. "If I have milk on my cereal, we'll run out of milk faster, and then we'll have to go to the store, where we can buy more Pokemon cards."
Aha! It all makes sense now. The problem for me is that things like this are fairly routine for him. He just thinks things through and then connives to get his way. I don't even want to imagine what this could mean for the teen years. (We did buy more milk, but his milk sacrifice was in vain: he was out of money for more cards).

very smart! He is such a cute kid. More pokemon card next time?
Sounds just like Ian - he's a total conniver too.... Have you finished Breaking Dawn yet?????
That is hilarious. I knew you had creative kids when I "lost" Andrew in my "gigantic" house because he was Mr. Incredible or Invisible or somebody. Do you remember that?!
He is a thinker that's for sure! I still get a kick out of his coined phrase "Teacher Trapped"! You have brilliant boys.
That's too funny! What a brilliant little man--sheer genious! : )
LOVE the picture too--it's perfect.
As I read this post, I thought of how our M usually doesn't eat his cereal w/milk either...but recently has also started asking for milk. I learned yesterday what his motivation was, and though not quite as clever as Colins...he too had alterior motives. M LOVES to drink chocolate milk (his soy milk mixed with Hershey's syrup...one of the few things he can have that's chocolate)but we limit the frequency and amount, and since lately his cereal of choice has been Cocoa Puffs (mixed w/ Kix)...he told me yesterday that he figured out that if he adds milk, he can have chocolate milk more often! Nice!
