He chose artichokes for dinner, a family favorite. Our second course was fondue-style hot dogs, which was a big hit. Both were traditions in Brandon's family while growing up.
Presents and cake rounded it all off (in that order--it drives me crazy! I grew up with cake then presents). He is such a great kid, and we love having him in our family. Hopefully his brothers haven't given him a present that oinks and lasts about a week!
UPDATE: Liam did come down with the flu the day after his birthday. How kind of it to wait!

I love the big toe picture - that's adorable!
Curious... please elaborate on "fondue style hot dogs." What are you dipping them in? And while I'm at it, how do you prepare the artichokes? I'm wondering if my kids would like them.... especially the one who can practically ONLY eat vegetables these days. Send me an email would ya? :)
I hope Liam had a happy one! Anson birthday is this Friday and I have my fingers crossed that no one will be sick...
BTW, I grew up with presents then cake. It was how my parents made the non-birthday people to be polite and attentive. :)
You have an 11 year old!!! I guess I wasn't keeping track. Congrats to the big kid. I will have to find out how you cook your artichokes. We grew up eating those but I tried once and created a 'choke disaster!
